It's no secret I've loved Suzi Blu's stamps for a really long time so imagine my excitement when on Tuesday morning postie delivered Suzi's new book.
Whilst reading I was totally engrossed in all that Suzi says about art, I've been struggling lately with confidence issues and turned down a wonderful opportunity, I wish I had read this book a few weeks ago.
The inspiration that Suzi shares with the reader is lovely and varied and she has a gallery at the back with guest artists and there are also some templates for you to play with. Suzi shows you how to make your own masterpiece from start to finish.
Did I not mention the DVD, it's soooo cool!
Suzi explains about Prismacolor pencil lead being waxy and movable once on paper, this makes them so easy to blend, and there is even a step by step how to shade a face. Below is my first effort and I'm delighted with the results.....
This is how I used to colour in my Suzi stamps.
Here's the full finished beeswaxed piece.

Wishing you a very lovey bank holiday weekend, love Sam xxx

Wow! Beautiful artwork Sam ♥♥
ReplyDeleteWow what a difference those pencils make. They are very pricey here in Canada tho. I will have to save up big time for them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference with how you were colouring and now.
I have been wondering about her book, I thought however that is was instructional with the DVD. I really was hoping she was going to show how she did a start to finish. Maybe I will just sign up for one of her online workshops and go from there.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Lesley

Fantastic Sam - I love your work with Suzi's stamps anyway but now you have added that little something extra. The book really is fabulous - trouble is it led to a Primacolor purchase lol!!! Lynn ♥
ReplyDeleteFabulous! Love her! I got Suzi's book last month but have not got past the reading it over and over again stage. Trying to work up the courage to put something on canvas.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you have been feeling unconfident lately but your work is always beautiful so I hope you have no doubts there. Sending you hugs anyway,
