It's Wednesday, which can mean only one thing, it's Stampotique Day! A new challenge at the Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog and this week our hostess is the very lovely Jackie, check out her blog here.
Jackie is inviting us to use Bows in our creations, here's why:
Ribbons have been around since the Middle Ages. Merchants travelled the world, buying and selling ribbon, many of which had gold and silver in the silk. ribbons were a sign of nobility and worn only by the rich. By the seventh century ribbon was part of the fashion industry and was part of clothing.
Today ribbon has numerous uses, and it is a favourite crafting accessory, I have lots of it!
You can make fabulous bows with it to adorn your cards, scrapbook page, tags, journals etc.
So I would like to see you adding a bow to your project, if you don't have ribbons, bows can be made out of many mediums such as paper, clay, string to name but a few!
I looking forward to seeing your creations with a bow!
I grabbed some wire to make the frame and stamped Blessed Skellie on some fabric, I painted her, added beads to her heart and glitter to her flower. I glued her feet to the frame and used some invisible thread from her head to the top of the frame to keep her stable. Then I just got busy with bits of ribbon and tied bows around the wire frame.
Hoping you find time to join in with us at Stampotique.
Wishing you a lovely day, Sam xxx
Love your pretty and colourful hanging Sam, Annette x
ReplyDeleteThis is super cute Samantha. I love all your pretty colors and bows
ReplyDeleteReally like this, Sam, anything that's a bit of Day of the Dead. And what a great use for ribbon offcuts! I have lots of ribbon and rarely use it.
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous and how clever to use the invisible thread.

ReplyDeleteVery creative Sam and a great way to fulfill the challenge and use up ribbon. I rarely use ribbon on cards, it always looks rubbish when I do it so I have found a new use for it - making taggy blankies for the little ones :) Love your hanger with skellie balanced on the frame.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you and Poppy xxxxx
