. . . an Angel that is, and I'm sure if we don't believe in them they still believe in us.
Jane is our lovely hostess at Stampotique and she is inviting us to use stencils in our creations for this weeks challenge. My fuzzy brain got a little confused and used the mask for the background thinking that was fine, then I realised it was a mask and not a stencil or are masks and stencils the same thing??
After using the mask on this 4in x 4in canvas I used a stencil to paint the word Angel, and then stamped the cute bunny on to some paper, coloured him/her and stuck him on.
I was really pleased with this, it's very neutral, unusual for me and I resisted putting glitter anywhere!
Hope you like it too, thanks for looking at my little blog,
wishing you a very lovely day, Sam xxx
Absolutely PERFECT for the challenge! Love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat texture and love the bunny!
ReplyDeletelove the simplicity but the message is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteReally like this project.
ReplyDeleteI love this Sam, so cute. Mask/stencil ... I think it depends which way the wind's blowing ;) xx
ReplyDeleteStencils - you colour in the holes. Masks you colour around the plastic. I think :-) Crafters Worskshop complicate things further by calling them all templates! I'd go with Kaz's definition.
ReplyDeleteLove your angel bunny.
It's beautiful!!! Love the texture Sam! Hope you have a very blessed Easter! xxx
ReplyDeleteA beautiful piece and love the bunny angel. I get totally confused by masks and stencils because the boundaries have been blurred - now that makes me sound as though I knew what I was talking about :)

Love it!
ReplyDeleteI would class a mask and a stencil as the same thing, so you'd qualify on both accounts if it were my decision Sam. Anyhow back to your stunning canvas, love it and great colours too xxxx
ReplyDeleteSam xxx
Stencil or mask, either way it looks fab. I like the neutrality of it.
ReplyDeleteYeah...we need an angel at our side..
ReplyDeleteFor me stencil and masks are the same! Lovely canvas, Sam.
I wish you a very peaceful ,colourful Easter, to you and Poppy!
Mask or Stencil, it's just PERFECT like that, without any glitter. And more than anyone maybe I believe in angels, they do exist, I've had the luck to know a wonderful little one... Hope my own angel will inspire me as beautiful works as yours in the future ! Have a really good Easter time with your Poppy Sam !! Coco x
ReplyDeleteHi, Samantha! I have resisted buying any of the bunnies--perhaps because I didn't really know how to use them! But, now, I find I am in love with this wee creature with his winged back to us! This is a great piece and shares with us that all angels do not take the human form! Sweet. I want a dog angel!! The softness of your color palette is reflective of the softness of bunny fur, so no need to fear you have disappointed us in now having lots of color--not to mention bits of glitter! P.S. You have an RAK winging its way to you from Boston!
ReplyDeleteLike it? I love it. Beautifully designed and a gorgeous colour palette.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Easter.
hugs {brenda} xox

ReplyDeleteHope you and Poppy had a lovely Easter with lots of chocs :-)

This is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGreat piece here Sam! Yes, you are usually all about the colour but this is perfect in the more subdued tones. Whether it was a stencil or mask, it worked fine the way you did it! Love that bunny!!!
