This weeks challenge at Stampotique is hosted by Tanja, it's her first time hosting so I'm excited for her and she has chosen Monochromatic as the theme. I confess that my heart sank when I saw the theme but in the end I had great fun making this birthday card for a fellow dog walker. This little doggy stamp always makes me thing of Poppy. I also experimented with embossing folders to get the flourish layers, just swishing distress ink on both sides of the folder and then printing, not embossing at all. The whole card was made using Black Soot Distress Ink and I like the layered look I managed to achieve.
The stamps I used are Floral Swirl, Give the dog a bone, Toto, Design Cube, Doilie, Happy Birthday and Oh Tree.
Hoping you can join in the fun this week!
Wishing you a lovely day, Sam xxx
Might not be your usual colourful palette, Sam, but you've made monochromatic work for you. I love the flourish embossed layers.

An exception piece of work, Sam! Like you, I have trouble with the monochromatic challenges, but, like you, in the end I was happy. You also have to appreciate that you would not have created this particular piece had it not been for the challenge. That's pretty special! Hugs to you and Poppy! ;-)
